State Farm renters insurance claim?

My parents have their homeowners insurance through State Farm, along with it being bundled with our car insurance. She lives in Georgia and I'm in Tuscaloosa, Alabama attending school. The homeowners insurance covers renters insurance at my apartment
You expected them to just write you a check for over $10,000 without any investigation whatsoever. Boy that would open them up to fraud. Also if there were thousands of claims, I would expect it to take more than 3 weeks.
