Best Co. has affirmed the financial strength rating of A++ (Superior) and issuer credit ratings of “aaa” of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA) and its wholly owned insurance operating subsidiary, TIAA-CREF Life Insurance Company (TIAA-CREF Life). TIAA and TIAA-CREF Life are collectively referred to as the TIAA Group. A.M. Best also has affirmed the debt ratings of “aaa” on the outstanding senior unsecured medium-term notes issued by TIAA Global Markets, Inc. and the debt rating of “aa” on the $2 billion 6.85% surplus notes due December 16, 2039 of TIAA.
