Is this a good salary and benefits for a single person in Canada?

I live in Canada, and I plan on joining the RCMP. RCMP officers make $47,400 a year as soon as they are hired. After three years, they make $78,000 a year, and after that it just keeps going up, senior officers make upwards of $100,000+.
Also,
Rogue is correct that the salary and benefits earned by a police officer working for a major employer anywhere in Canada are excellent. But his mantra is wrong. That kind of approach to managing your money is a sure recipe for problems.
